Lemmings, the game all about sacrificing your helpless minions in the name of progress and puzzle solving, makes its way to the PlayStation Mobile platform today, compatible with all certified phones, tablets and the PlayStation Vita.
Lemmings is one of those games series with a deep history. It’s been around for over 20 years at this point and has appeared on just about every platform you can think of. As a result, developer d3t said they were careful to treat the project with extra care, knowing full well the number of fans that Lemmings has managed to garner over the years.
“At d3t, we always go the extra mile to deliver the best possible games, so we knew we were the right people for the job,” said Commercial Director Jaime Campbell on the PlayStation Blog. “But it’s not every day you get asked to work on a title with a name that resonates with multiple generations of gamers who have enjoyed playing existing versions of the game on numerous gaming systems since it was first published by Psygnosis for the Commodore Amiga in 1991.”
Campbell goes on to say that d3t feels its offering gives gamers a “faithful” Lemmings experience, complete with new touch screen controls and a shiny new paintjob.
Starting today, you can download Lemmings on PlayStation Mobile and take on the first 30 levels for free. Additional level packs after that will go for a buck a pop.
