Capcom isn't quite ready to divulge all of the details on Lost Planet 3's multiplayer yet. However, they've sent out an image to clue us in on what to expect from the shooter's online play.

In the image, we see human soldiers fending off an Akrid. The Akrid looks like a mix between a hermit crab and a spider, except enormous. There are four players visible in the shot.

Lost Planet 2 had a host of competitive modes, and also allowed four players to tackle the campaign together. This shot could just be from the campaign. It's also possible that we're looking at some standalone co-op play, like a Horde Mode.

Lost Planet 3, a prequel to the first two games, was announced in April. Capcom previously stated that LP3 will arrive in early 2013.
