All kinds of fanboygasms must be taking place right now, as BioWare leaked a heck of a lot of new information for the upcoming, mega-mammoth sequel known as Mass Effect 3. There will be new classes, new kinds of combat, new ways to battle and more places to visit. All the information you could possibly want out of a Mass Effect news story comes courtesy of Game Informer.
Apparently a new Heavy Melee Class will make the cut, which features kung-fu kicks, punches and a SWAT turn. Rolling is now an option, along with diving for cover. New planets to visit include a Quarian moon, the home planet of the Salarians, several locations on Earth…Mars. That’s right, you might run into the Doom guy while trying to save the universe. Environments have also undergone some major improvements, with BioWare hoping to capture a sort of epic feel for the game with larger scaled areas to traverse and fight in. Speaking of fighting...again, there will be new weak points on enemies along with the ability to dismantle mechs piece by piece with appropriated fire. The combat itself will also see improvements to the pacing, so things will feel less like a silent turn-based RPG. Sounding cool yet? Mass Effect 3 seems to be the project that transcends this long time space-opera drama into a space-opera action thriller. I’m definitely down with that.
