BioWare is inviting Mass Effect 3 players to participate in another special multiplayer event this weekend. Operation Savage encourages you to kill many, many virtual baddies.
The goal during Operation Savage is for the entire player community to kill 7,000,000 "trooper" enemies. This includes Husks, Cannibals, Geth Troopers and Cerberus Assault Troopers. If the goal is reached, everyone who participated will receive a Victory Pack with a random selection of rewards. As usual, there will be a squad goal as well. During the weekend, you must survive a co-op mission using some combination of Korgan, Vorcha or Batarian classes. The Vorcha were added in the free Rebellion DLC that went live at the end of May. Completing the squad goal will earn you a Commendation Pack. I wish they'd be a little more creative with these weekend events. Ideally, the Operations would offer up an interesting new challenge that changes the way you play the game. These squad and allied goals don't require you to really adapt at all, though; you're just basically doing what you'd always do in multiplayer. It won't really attract inactive players back into the fold. While I realize that it would be difficult to make radical alterations to multiplayer (zero-G weekend!), there are subtle ways that BioWare could spice up the multiplayer. Operation Savage will kick off at 6PM PST on Friday June 22nd and end at 4AM PST on Monday. Reward packs will be send out on Tuesday evening. Back to top
