It may be years before BioWare releases another Mass Effect game. A new point-and-click adventure game created by a fan will help tide us over in the meantime. Finding Shepard, currently in development, will star the foul-mouthed biotic Jack.
Finding takes place in the aftermath of the "Destroy" ending from ME3. Everyone assumes that Shepard is dead but Jack isn't convinced. She must find a way to the Citadel to learn what's become of the galaxy's greatest hero. Miranda, Wrex and Kasumi will all make appearances in the journey.
It's not clear how close the game is to completion. On the AGS forums, the creator mentions that she's working on a demo currently. She provided a number of screenshots from the game to show that some progress has been made on the art, at least.
There are a lot of different directions that BioWare can go with Mass Effect 4 and other games. For example, they might do a prequel. It's possible that we won't see Commander Shepard and his friends again in one of their games. Hopefully fan games like this will be able to satisfy our desire to see the old crew again.
