Danger Close is trying to bill Medal of Honor: Warfighter as an authentic military shooter. Toward that end, they've released a video in which former Navy SEALS talk about how they completed their missions.
This particular video talks about the "point man." The point man is the member of the assault team who leads the way. It's the job that you'll probably find yourself in very often during Warfighter.
In Warfighter, Tier 1 operators (the cream of the crop in U.S. Special Forces) travel the world trying to stop a new threat. The story was penned by Tier 1 Operators while they were deployed overseas. Furthermore, the missions are actually based on real-world events to some degree.
I don't know whether the whole authenticity angle will actually work for EA and Danger Close. Do players desire realism in shooters? If so, are they looking for realism in the story or just in the mechanics themselves (recoil, one-shot kills, etc.)? Perhaps we'll get some answers to these questions when Warfighter arrives this fall.
