Publishers rarely release tutorial videos for games before they're even released. However, Konami did just that with Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance because it gives them a good opportunity to show off Blade Mode.
In Blade Mode, the action slows to a crawl and Raiden can specify the exact angle that he slashes enemies. This means he can, for example, slash the exposed shoulder of an enemy while they're holding a hostage. Alternately, he can perform a carefully placed slice that kills two enemies at once.
The really cool part, though, is that Raiden can queue up multiple attacks. What's more, the objects or enemies fall apart in the exact way you cut them. If you slice a water melon twice, it splits into three pieces. Maybe that doesn't have any actual gameplay ramifications but it's an impressive visual touch nonetheless.
Revengeance is the first game in the series to emphasize action rather than stealth. It seems like PlatinumGames is trying to make the swordplay just as complex as the stealth system became over the years. We'll have to wait and see whether Blade Mode is enough to build a game around.
