XSSEED is bringing yet another title to the PlayStation Vita today, offering the musically inclined strategy game, Orgarhythm, when the PlayStation Network updates this afternoon.
XSEED Senior Editor Jessica Chavez dropped by the Playstation Blog to drop the details, highlighting the game’s rhythm-based mechanics and rock-paper-scissors combat engine. Start thinking Patapon in 3D and you won’t be too far off of the mark. Check out this brief tutorial video, which does a far better job of explaining things than I ever could. In Orgarhythm, players take on the role of the God of Light, who must wage war against their brother, the God of Darkness. How do gods settle disputes? Dance battles, of course. Using touch controls, players will send units to serve (That’s my hip dancing lingo) enemy units. Knowing which units to send into the fray becomes a big part of the strategy, as well as tapping the screen to the music’s beat in order to build strength, add combos, etc. The game features 12 stages with massive bosses at the end of each, and the enemy AI will change up if you decide to go back and replay a level. You can also expect a bunch of leaderboards for comparing your stats to the rest of the community, as well as ad-hoc co-op and versus modes. A price point has not yet been announced, but the wait to find how much Orgarhythm will cost won’t be a long one. Look for the game in today’s PSN update. Back to top
