Farm 51 and Nordic Games are prepping for the release of Painkiller: Hell & Damnation. But before the game gets hit with the distribution chute the developers want player feedback and support via a public beta test, so with that said Nordic Games wants beta testers. Oh yeah, and they released some screenshots to try to entice gamers to sign-up.
Unlike some previous iterations of the Painkiller franchise, this newest game will not be releasing on consoles this time. Sad, I know. Still, if you're into plastering bad guys against the grimy walls of hell using devilish harpoon weapons, or obliterating foes with cosmic force using guns that would make Duke Nukem blush and the Doom Guy envious, then Painkiller is a game for you.
Reinhard Pollice, Business and Product Development, Nordic Games commented about the game's beta, saying...
“We are very excited to open the Beta for selected users and are looking forward to the feedback sessions in our forum,” ... “The feedback from fans that played the original Painkiller is extremely important to us. It will give us a chance to interact with the community, as well as offering them exclusivity of being the first to play the game.”
The newest game in the franchise makes full use of Epic's Unreal Engine, it sports a fully fledged multiplayer component complete with co-op modes, deathmatch and team deathmach. Given how the weapons work in Painkiller it will be very interesting to see how it all plays out.
