PAX East Confirmed For 2011 And 2012

Penny Arcade Expo East looks like it has legs. Merely a day after the first PAX East's conclusion, the organizers have already confirmed it will return to Boston for 2011 and 2012.

About 60,000 gamers attended PAX East this weekend - about twice what had been expected. To meet the higher-than-expected demand, the convention will be changing venues. Instead of returning to the Hynes Convention Center, PAX East will head to the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center for the next two years.

"We had assumed we would be in [the Hynes] for what? Three years, I think? That was our initial idea," Penny Arcade artist Mike Krahulik told Joystiq. "And already this will be our only year here. We have to move it next year."

Considering the scarcity of large-scale gaming conventions on the East Coast, this is welcome news. I'd prefer it to be in Manhattan but that's just the laziness talking.
