A short while back we reported on Valve and Overkill Software collaborating together on the new expansion for Payday: The Heist called Payday: No Mercy. The expansion is being designed entirely by Overkill and it's a non-canon, pseudo-prequel crossover into Left 4 Dead, and the new trailer gives gamers a taste of life before the outbreak.
In the original Payday: The Heist, up to four players take on the role of dangerous bank robbers. Each scenario gives players objective-based tasks to rob a high-profile target and then attempt to get out alive. There aren't many play-style options, as the game quickly devolves into back-and-forth CoD-style shooting with the brisk pace of Left 4 Dead. The newest expansion, called No Mercy, sees everyone's favorite clown-faced, mask-wearing robbers infiltrating a hospital from the Left 4 Dead game series for some valuable goods, only things don't quite go as planned and it all turns sour with some intense hospital corridor shooting. If you're into co-op games that are fast and furious then Payday will be right up your alley. It wasn't entirely my cup of tea but you can't expect much from a budget-priced shooter, and in that regards the game does live up to its entry price. Fancy learning more about Payday and this snazzy Left 4 Dead crossover? Well, you can gather up a bit more information by paying a visit to the Official Overkill Software Website. Back to top
