PlayStation Store Update Gets A Video Walkthrough

It was announced last week that the PlayStation Store would be receiving a major overhaul and, today, those changes go live in Europe. For those of us in the U.S. stuck with the same old boring storefront until next week, though, at least Sony is offering a (decidedly long) look into what we can expect from the facelift.

Personally, I always though the PlayStation Store functioned just fine. I’m in the minority, though, as apparently loads of people have been asking for the impending update. Also, just because something works well doesn’t mean it can’t be improved.

While European gamers are already enjoying the new store, the U.S. has to wait another week for the changes to go into effect. That doesn’t mean we have to wait to at least see what said changes look like, though.

In proper video game fashion, the new PlayStation Store has its own tutorial video. This thing is more than five minutes long, introducing viewers to all of the bits and baubles that make up the new online shopping experience. Yeah, it looks a little slicker. And yeah, it does appear to be more organized than the old store. Look to enjoy the new PSN shopping experience starting Oct. 23.
