During the newest installment of Nintendo Direct, Nintendo president Satoru Iwata announced that Pokemon creators Game Freak are working on a brand-new game for the 3DS. Rhythm Hunter: HarmoKnight is expected to launch later this year.
HarmoKnight stars a young warrior whose world is suddenly invaded by monsters. It falls to him to drive them away. For this task, he's armed himself with an enormous...musical note. The main gimmick of HarmoKnight is that it's a rhythm-based platformer. While navigate the side-scrolling levels, you'll club enemies and grab notes strewn through the level. These actions create musical notes. It seems like you get some manner of reward for making your character's actions line up with the background music. There was no mention of a Western release for HarmoKnight in today's announcement. However, considering Game Freak's previous success in the West with the Pokemon series, Nintendo has no reason to doubt this game's chances in North America or Europe. Back to top
