At a pre-New York Comic Con event, Electronic Arts revealed subsidiary PopCap Games' next project. The Peggle developer will be creating a game called Popcorn Dragon for iOS.

In Dragon, players direct a dragon across the screen using their finger. They mustuse the dragon's fire breath to pop kernels of popcorn and then eat them. While trying to do this, enemies like airplanes and birds will try to stop you.

The screenshots show a scoreboard at the top left. Apparently you'll get extra points for stringing together combos. Over time you'll earn tickets that let you buy upgrades for your dragon.

According to Wired, Popcorn Dragon will be released on iOS this winter.
