Project CARS Video Tests Max Settings Graphics On Nurburgring
Another community video has been released for the upcoming high-end racing simulator from Slightly Mad Studios. The video is a real-time capture of the game running on max settings on Nurburgring in a BMW M3 while the real-time day-cycle takes place, going from mid-day to dusk. Impressive is a word that doesn't do the video justice.
Unfortunately, YouTube fails hard at video compression and you don't get to witness the game in its full 60 frames per second glory, but it comes close enough. That's not to mention that the cycle shift from day to night is remarkably slick and looks gorgeous with phenomenal shader effects on display.
So far, Project CARS has sort of been a Cinderella story with Slightly Mad Studios crowd-funding the AAA-style racing simulation and meeting and surpassing their goals. The only trouble in paradise moment arrived when the FCA (formerly FSA) started investigating the project under suspicion of investor fraud.
So far, the game is still scheduled to arrive for PC and home consoles, with the Wii U version clocked in at 720p and 30fps. That's not too bad considering how graphically demanding the game can be.
While crowd funding has been brought to a halt by the FCA as of the writing of this article, you can still learn more about Project CARS, which is scheduled to release in the second quarter of 2014, by paying a visit to the game's Official Website.
