Project Needlemouse First Concept Art Released, Sonic Is Only Playable Character

Today Sega announced that Sonic would be the only playable character in the in-development 2D side-scroller Project Needlemouse. To celebrate the lack of a unnecessary new character, they released the first piece of concept art for the game.

No, it's not a picture of Sonic, unfortunatey. It's one of those robotic crabs that he's so fond of fighting. Sega says this picture "reveals much more about the spirit, and direction, that Project Needlemouse is taking." Meh, I guess.

The release date and platforms for Needlemouse have yet to be disclosed.
