Hype Quad Core Gaming Notebook Could Make Upgrading Obsolete on N4G
Quad Core Gaming Notebook Could Make Upgrading Obsolete The ASUS G71 Quad Core Gaming Notebook is extremely powerful and contains, yes, four core-processors. Featuring the new Intel Core 2 Quad Extreme processor QX9300, gamers will be gaming for a long freaking time, without having to upgrade for a long freaking time.

If you're into gaming-on-the-go, you know how tough it is to purchase a laptop/notebook that can play the latest games without moving like it's always in bullet-time. The problem is that portable computers just don't have the under-the-hood power they need to play games that release six month after the purchase of the notebook. And if they do happen to have a lot of processing muscle, the darn things probably cost two arms and two legs, leaving you financially maimed. But with ASUS G71, the tide could be turning for portable gaming and upgrading could be as frequent as buying a new console.

The G71 features some kick-butt tools that allow gamers to adjust the clock speed and processing output for the maximization of your gaming experience. Utilizing the Direct Console 2.0, gamers can effectively choose from three processor speed settings that is optimized for various modes of use. Built-in lights on the notebook's chasis can also be adjusted to suit in-game events, and single-touch hotkeys can also be configured to launch games at the press of a button. Now that's what I call convenient.

There's also the inclusion of the Direct Messenger, which sports gamers with an Xbox Live-esque feature that allows gamers to easily, and effectively, communicate, check system stats, and receive notifications of battery reserves all while playing a game. Sweet.
