QuakeCon 2011 is now underway in Dallas. Digital game store Steam will be hosting several discounts on id Software titles during the four days of the gaming convention.
From now until August 7th, the price of nearly every id Software game on Steam has been reduced by 25% or 50%. For example, you can pick up Doom 3 for only $9.99 or Return to Castle Wolfenstein for $7.49. Games from id Software's parent Bethesda Softworks, such as Fallout: New Vegas and Elders Scrolls IV: Oblivion, also received discounts. The full list of weekend-long discounts can be found here. If you're looking to create an enormous game stockpile with one purchase, you can grab the QuakeCon Pack. It includes all of the id and Bethesda games currently on Steam. The 34-game bundle costs just $69.99. Ordinarily you'd have to pay $494.66 to buy all these games individually. Steam is also running daily deals throughout QuakeCon. Today the Elder Scrolls Pack, which contains The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind Game of the Year Edition and The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Game of the Year Edition Deluxe, is $14.99 instead of the usual $49.99. You can shave an additional 33% off the price by pre-purchasing Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Pre-purchasing Skyrim anytime this weekend, by the way, will unlock the exclusive "Skyrim's Iron Hat" for Team Fortress 2. Topping off the weekend's deals is a free play period for Brink. From now until Sunday at 1 pm PST, you can download and play the full version of the parkour shooter for no charge. If you buy it before Monday at 10 am, you'll get a 50% discount on the price. You'll also unlock the "The Anger Hoodmask" for Team Fortress 2. Back to top
