Capcom has sent out word that the highly anticipated, content-heavy RE:5 Gold Edition has officially become available for PS3, PC and Xbox 360 in the States.

According to the press release…

On top of the original best selling game, you’ll also get all additional content released to date. Just take a look at all you get for one incredible purchase price of $49.99, wrapped nicely in special gold foil packaging.

There’s actually a ton of new content available in the Gold Edition that doesn’t make it a bad purchase at all. Two brand new episodes, Lost in Nightmares and Desperate Escape are available in the Gold Edition, along with brand new costumes for the characters, and a completely revamped Mercenaries Mode. What’s more is that there’s a four-player deathmatch versus mode where players can pick their favorite character and do battle with a few friends.
