Man, there aren't too many open-world games being released in this day and age despite their absolute huge popularity within the gaming community. Well, VBlank Entertainment has spared no expense to provide gamers with one of the most over-the-top, action-packed open-world games this generation called Retro City Rampage. Also, did I mention it looks like an NES game with 256 colors?

The new trailer for Retro City Rampage is chock full of carnage and is balls-to-the-walls action with a non-stop barrage of intense gameplay that showcases nothing but a man going on an absolute rampage. Well worth watching? Definitely.



I could be wrong but this could be a sleeper hit of 2012, it has all the makings of a new-generation classic using old-school graphics and retrocity. I love the music to this game as well...a chip-tune dub-step would probably make it even more epic.

As shown off in the video, the game is like an 8-bit rendition of Saints Row or True Crime: Streets of LA, with players being able to beat the crap out of people with melee attacks, traverse the environments using classic side-scrolling platform as well as all the vehicular mayhem one would expect to accompany an open-world action title. I actually can't wait for this game.
