Rise Of The Triad Multiplayer Video Brings On The Mega KillsAuthor: William Usher

A new multiplayer off-screen video was released for Interceptor Entertainment's upcoming Rise of the Triad remake. The video was captured over the weekend at the recent 2012 QuakeCon, giving gamers a nice look at the absolute carnage that comes along with the multiplayer gameplay.
The video is a bit grainy and the quality is somewhat low, but you can blame it on Gametrailers cameras. Anyway, thanks to them we get a brief look at how the multiplayer works in Rise of the Triad and it's pretty much on par to what you would expect from a remake of a game made in the 90s. Check it out below. The video was all right. I'm going to express some disappointment in one key area: why didn't he use more weapons?! I don't know if the weapons aren't finished or what but I was hoping he would at least fire the pistol off a few times. It's also amazing how close they have the Walther PP and hand from the original Rise of the Triad modeled for the remake. It's almost scary how similar the aesthetics are for the game compared to the original. Still, I was hoping to see a little more weapon versatility than what we got. On the upside, since the game is running on the Unreal Engine and has been made easily accessible for modding, Intercept Entertainment has already promised robust mod support. So I can easily see a ton of new weapons, maps and skins becoming available shortly after the game launches. Will it have a dedicated community like Killing Floor or Red Orchestra? That remains to be seen, but hopefully the game finds a nice niche audience and comfortable sales, especially considering that it's going to be launching DRM-free.
