Rockstar Games announced today that they are developing a PSP version of Beaterator, the popular music-mixing Flash application they created in 2005. It will arrive on the PSP and PSN on September 29th in North America and October 2nd in Europe.

Beaterator allows you to make your own music with thousands of loops and sounds created by Rockstar and co-producer Timbaland. The official website claims that the game will also feature a "highly-addictive collection of rhythm games and challenge modes."

“I’ve worked closely with Rockstar Games to make something completely unique,” said Timbaland. “Beaterator is like taking my music studio and turning it into a suite of tools anyone can use. We can’t wait to hear the beats people make and share with the world.”

The PSP Beaterator is being made by Rockstar Leeds, the outfit responsible for the PSP/DS installments of Grand Theft Auto. The debut trailer is below.
