The rumors surrounding a PSP2 have been ongoing since just after the early days of the new generation console wars. We’ve been seeing all kinds of “New PSP” this and “OMG PSP” that news all over the place. Well, PlayStation LifeStyle may have stumbled onto something a little bit more concrete. According to PS LifeStyle the new PSP2 could be coming sooner rather than later and may feature a few common functionalities found in most cell phones.

The LifeStyle guys found some neat information via LinkedIn, stating…

What we do know is a couple of LinkedIn profiles clearly list the PSP2 in their experience and summaries. Dominic Mason is the Director at AtomFire Productions, a game development house located in Brighton, United Kingdom. They specialize in mobile games, mobile apps, web apps and flash games.

In addition to this, a casting assistant working in Romania listed the PSP2 as a project her television studio worked on. I don’t know about anyone else but casting for a PSP2 commercial sounds more like endgame news for a launch rather than an announcement.

Usually any rumor that comes out of the PS LifeStyle camp turns out to be true, so I wouldn't be surprised if at the next few tradeshows something pops up indicating that the PSP2 is legit and on its way.
