Rumor: Resident Evil 6 Set In China

Capcom has yet to formally announce Resident Evil 6. However, we may already know one of the locations for the game. An actor's online resume suggests that the game will be at least partially set in China.

The resume (via The Silent Chief) states that she played the role of "Chinese Villager/Zombie" in the game. Unless Umbrella Corporation is in the business of importing villagers from other countries, I'd say that's a good indication that the game will take place in China.

The Resident Evil series has taken us across North America, South America, Europe, Antarctica and Africa at this point. They've sort of neglected Asia to this point. It seems inevitable that Capcom would create a sequel somewhere on that continent.

Because, again, RE6 hasn't been announced yet, little information has been released about it. However, Capcom hinted at this year's E3 that the game will return to the survival horror roots of the series and shy away from the shooter-like tendencies of RE5.

"We know that alot of fans want more horror back for the next one, the development team knows that as well and we read a lot of comments, messageboards, and ask for feedback, and there was a lot of critisism about RE5′s focus on action," a Capcom rep said at the time. "I think that you’ll like the direction the dev team is shifting for the next one."

On a side note, mentioning unannounced video games in your resume sounds like a good way to get noticed. It was probably unintentional but this actress managed to drive a few thousand people to her resume. May it result in some gainful employment.
