S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call Of Pripyat Delayed To 2010Author: Pete Haas

The Russian version of S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat will be released on October 2nd. It's going to take quite a bit longer for us English speakers to get the game, though.
The English website for bitComposer Games, the worldwide publisher of Pripyat, now lists the game's release date as "1st Quarter 2010." The German mirror of the site, meanwhile, says that the game will arrive in that territory on November 2009. Anything listed on a website (official or otherwise) is subject to change so the English/German versions could potentially be pushed back even further as time goes on. I'd say that the delay allows Pripyat to avoid the heavy competition of the holiday season but so many other games have been delayed that early 2010's looking pretty damn crowded. For example, BioShock 2, one of the few shooters out there that can compete with S.T.A.L.K.E.R. in terms of atmosphere and overall creepiness, is coming out in February. Back to top
