Eight new screenshots have emerged for Funcom and EA’s upcoming action-oriented MMO, The Secret World. The new screenshots contain a brief look at one of the more unique settings set within the cosmos, as well as a few monsters players will face off against.

The Secret World is building up to be an atmospheric, modern day journey into the unknown. Players will pick from one of three different global factions who are fighting against the underbelly of a supernatural reality as well as jockeying for power amongst themselves. This means that the game has a two-fold combat system that enables the factions to fight in PvP and fight the other evil entities in PvE.

We haven’t see much of the PvP vs PvE scenarios but I would like to hope that it’s closer to SoftOn’s DarkEden than it is traditional MMOs where you can only PvP in specific zones.
