EA has announced another expansion pack for the PC and Mac version of The Sims 3. The Sims 3 Showtime will let players become a famous entertainer and perform for each other.

In Showtime, players can take on the role of singers, acrobats, magicians and DJ's. The new SimPort feature enables them to hop into a friend's world and perform there. Players will earn rewards for completing various goals and challenges. These accomplishments will be tracked through a new in-game news feed.

The expansion will come with an assortment of new items as well. You'll be able to create a unique venue for your performer using props and special effects. Build carefully, because your stage can affect your performance and therefore your rise to fame. Pre-ordering the game will earn you access to an Ultimate Stage venue, which sounds impressive.

Showtime will launch in all territories in March 2012.
