United Front Games and Square Enix sent out word not too long ago that the PC version of Sleeping Dogs would have some special uber-glossy, ultra-shiny, gummy-bear good graphics options and special configurable control mechanics. Well, following up on that announcement, Square Enix released two new PC exclusive trailer ahead of the game's launch next week.
The short developer diary showcase features Wei Shen chasing a guy through the docks during a downpour, complete with DX11 features turned all the way up and the graphics fidelity running on so-good-it'll-attempt-to-make-your-eyes-bleed. You can check out a brief video overview of the graphics features from the PC version of Sleeping Dogs rocking it in HD in the video below. Enjoy. To be completely honest, I don't know if that video really did PC-elitism all that much justice. I guess we'll just have to take United Front Games' word for it that you can rock some monitor-melting settings at 60fps at all times. Still, I'm quite looking forward to Sleeping Dogs. The game seems to do open-world gameplay right (or as right as it looks judging from the video trailers that have been let loose), and the gunplay looks rather satisfying. The fighting system also seems to be good enough for those of us who like to paint fist imprints on people's faces with a punch or two done proper. You can pick up Sleeping Dogs for PC, Xbox 360 or PS3 next week on August 14th.
