Let's face it: Solitaire has gotten lame. While it's still the go-to source for bored workers, IRS office slackers who should be making sure you're not getting audited, and police officers who work in small, rural towns, it's still lame...and it needs an upgrade. In fact, what we need is an extreme solitaire. A solitaire for this new generation of gamers. What we need is...Solitaire Ultra.
Solitaire Ultra, from developer Firefrog Games, brings the classic game of color-coordinated numerical card stacking game kicking and screaming into the next generation, beefing up the content with all sorts of new tweaks and features.
Now players will take on the role of the Ace of Spades, a former CIA operative who, abandoned for dead in the Congo, must fight his way to freedom in this action-packed, explosive first-person shooter adventure.
Okay, absolutely none of that last bit was true. While Firefrog certainly have spruced up the card game classic, this isn't one of those reboots that takes a series in an entirely new direction. What you can expect out of Solitaire Ultra according to the developer, is “fluid 3D graphics, worldwide high score tables, and free unlockable rewards such as cards, card backs and tables.” The game also supports in-game achievements, for those who are into that sort of thing.
Solitaire Ultra is now available for both Android and iOS devices. A free, ad-supported version of the game is available, as well as an ad-less version for $0.99.
