Sonic Jump has gone live on iTunes, complete with a launch trailer that features Sonic jumping. Sorry if that was a little anticlimactic, but what did you expect he would be doing in a game called Sonic Jump?
Do you remember that game Doodle Jump from several years back? Well, surprisingly enough, Sonic Jump is a very similar title. The titular speed demon is in a perpetual state of jumping motion and your job as the player is to guide him safely to the top of levels designed after famous areas from the series' games. Of course it's a bit more complicated than that. There are all sorts of baddies you have to look out for, menacing critters you can actually attack, breakable platforms, rings to collect springs that shoot you up higher, environmental hazards, power-ups and even boss fights. See? I wasn't exaggerating about that whole “jumping” business. Unlike many jumping games, Sonic Jump isn't a never-ending climb to the top. World's are broken down into “missions,” which means you actually have a goal at the top you're trying to reach. Given the fact there's a “coming soon” tab on the game's shop page, too, there's a pretty good chance we'll be seeing even more levels coming at some point in the future. Sonic Jump is available now for iOS with an Android version reportedly in the works. But if you're gaming on an iDevice, you can jump into it now for $1.99. Back to top
