The overseas report of a new, slimmer PS3 model was true after all. Today Sony opened an official website for the model, which carries the sexy moniker "CECH-3000B."

The official site, spotted by Andriasang, confirms the details leaked yesterday. The CECH-3000B is a slightly lighter version of the PS3 Slim, weighing in at 2.6kg instead of 3kg. Its power consumption has been lowered to 200 Watts. The new system will be available in Charcoal Black

The CECH-3000B will begin hitting stores in Japan at sometime this month. It comes with a 320GB hard drive, Dual Shock 3, power cable, USB cable, and AV cable. It's priced the same as the "old" PS3 Slim.

It remains to be seen whether this model will come westward, though. Sony Computer Entertainment Europe told VG247 that they had nothing to share regarding a European launch.
