SSX Massive Worlds Video Series Shows Off Deadly Descents, Google Earth

published: 2011-10-19 14:48:26
A new video series has emerged for the upcoming SSX, which was once titled SSX: Deadly Descent but is now just SSX. The video series features a nice little walkthrough of a few of the stages players will race down as well as how Google Earth was used as inspiration to make the maps come alive, along with real-life NASA topographical data.

If you thought that extreme sports games were dead after Activision and EA gave up on Tony Hawk and Skate, you can at least look forward to SSX to offer you some current generation snowboarding intensity with a few new features that actually takes advantage of the PS3 and Xbox 360 hardware capabilities. Check it out below.

I especially liked how they incorporated the real world mountains in their with the automated mountain generator. That’s some neat tech that I hope gets used in more projects other than just SSX. Still, for this game there are some elements that do seem particularly fun, like riding down the Alaskan pipeline or racing against your oxygen supply in the Himalayans.

If you’re excited about the game then be sure to keep an eye out for its release early next year for the Xbox 360 and PS3. If you want to learn more about the features, boarders or to pre-order the game, feel free to visit the Official Website.
