Cryptstone Games recently released a new trailer for their upcoming single-player, sci-fi strategy title, Star Prospector. The game blends traditional role-playing elements such as leveling and item acquisition with standard-fare real-time combat and strategy.

What gamers end up with is a game where they're single-handedly shooting across the galaxy in search of the next big gold mine in space, using high-tech mining equipment and a state-of-the-art all-purpose. That's right, players are assuming the role of a resource scavenger and the galactic roadmap to minerals, ore and fuel is yours for the taking.



After watching the trailer, I have to say that the concept is quite unique. I like how you're just sort of this worker striving and hunting for resources but at the same time there's the option to grow and expand those efforts into a full blown operation, complete with base management and everything.

The game is scheduled to release soon for PC. If the game has enough depth I can quickly see this steamrolling through Steam as an easy sleeper-hit. For the most part Crypstone's game looks pretty good and you'll be able to pick up a digital copy very soon for PC.
