Star Wars: The Old Republic is about to become one of the rare games that inspires an encyclopedia. With the release of the SW:TOR encyclopedia rapidly approaching, DK Publishing has created a trailer to hype this sourcebook.
The encyclopedia details the various characters, locations and technology seen in Old Republic. It also details the various events that occur throughout the game as well. The book was created in collaboration with LucasArts and many of the game's writers also contributed. The introduction was penned by Ian Ryan, a member of the writing team. Old Republic launched to much fanfare last December. However, the game has been bleeding subscribers since then. BioWare announced this summer that they're converting it to a free-to-play business model. In spite of these troubles, though, its player base is still sizable though and I imagine this book could be a popular collector's item for them. The encyclopedia will be available on October 12th. It's priced at $39.99, but Amazon is currently offering it at a 34% discount. Back to top
