You read the headline correctly; video game developers will receive their very own stimulus package during these tough economic times. So how will it work and what’s the benefit? It’s all very simple and cost effective, in fact, the stimulus package has already been put into effect and a lot of developers just didn’t know it.

According to an article on Electronic Theatre, Trinigy, the independent middleware developer for the Vision Game Engine, announced that they are working on an stimulus package for gaming developers to help get projects off the ground quickly and efficiently.

“With all the economic issues going on right now, we felt that it is time to close ranks and pro-actively back game developers.” says Daniel J. Conradie, President & CEO at Trinigy US. “Thus, we took the initiative and initiated ESP. We’ve received overwhelming responses from veteran teams and we are glad to make ESP publicly available now”.

Under the economic stimulus package, up-and-coming developers will have more access to the Vision 7.5 SDK for use with the Xbox 360, PS3, Wii and PC. Instead of the 30 day evaluation period for using the Vision SDK, the time will be extended to three months. Nice.

Accordingly, certain development teams have already received Trinigy’s approval to take part in the ESP program.
