DayZ Standalone's development team has begun work on a cooking feature for the survival game. In a new blog post, Bohemia Interactive explained what cooking will be like in the zombie apocalypse and also gave a progress report on other features.
Every single week on end since the original week when it launched, DayZ has been Steam's number one best selling game for an entire month. Since it's debut on December 16th, the game has gone on to triumph as a strong selling independent title on Steam.
Not even a month out and DayZ's standalone “alpher” has sold more than 875,000 digital copies in three weeks time. Very, very impressive. The news comes courtesy of one of Bohemia Interactive's CEO Maruk Spanel, who took to the DayZ development blog and rolled out a ton of info along with plans they have for the future of the project.
Two of the best-selling games on Steam right now are Rust and the standalone version of DayZ. Both games are multiplayer survival simulators, with players scavenging for supplies to stay alive while fighting off A.I. and human enemies. DayZ and Rust offer very different experiences, though.
The alpha test for the standalone version of DayZ can be a little intimidating at first. You're dropped on the beach with little equipment and not a single word of instruction. To help you get started, I've created a step-by-step instructional guide to the game based on my early experiences.
The site has crashed. Bohemia Interactive has launched the DayZ standalone and their site has crashed. The alpha release of one of the most highly anticipated games of the year is finally here and it has also made its way onto Steam. Just as well, you can expect an overload of Steam's store.
Dean “Rocket” Hall has recently been talking about the public standalone alpha release of DayZ. The game was added to the Steam database not too long ago and that means it will be launching soon. There are a few things you need to keep in mind before heading back to Cheranus.
Soon the standalone version of multiplayer zombie game DayZ will be available through Steam Early Access. Though it's taken Bohemia Interactive a long time to get the project to this point, there's still a lot of work to be done.
Well folks, it's on its way. Dean “Rocket” Hall has been silent for a great deal about the standalone of DayZ following the GamesCom showcase, but new information has surfaced thanks to the Steam database app, which shows that Bohemia recently updated the DayZ entry 22 hours ago, as of the publishing of this article.
We don't have an official date on its release, but there's just one small (or rather large) piece of the puzzle that needs to be completed before we're all diving headfirst into Chernarus, surviving, shooting zombies and killing other players on sight, even though some people hate the shoot-on-sight mentality like they hate people who always reference Hitler in subjects where he doesn't belong.
There are a lot of new features coming to the DayZ standalone. The video is just under half-an-hour long and is extremely detailed and information-related. There are also some mechanics in place to ease up on the kill-on-sight mentality that eventually took over the original DayZ mod.
We've come to the end of June basically and there's still no DayZ Standalone. Hair is being torn out, shoes are being ripped apart, underwear is being soiled... all of this is happening because everyone wants to know when the public alpha will go live? Well, cue the holy choirs because Dean “Rocket” Hall has set a window and it's so much sooner than you think.
Reddit sent a couple of dedicated redboys to E3 this year to cover the event on the ground level and with microphone and camera in tow, the Reddit Vidya Gaems Jurnol1st managed to get a one-on-one interview with Dean “Rocket” Hall as well as showcase some brand new gameplay footage of DayZ.
Some brand new post-apocalyptic screenshots for the DayZ Standalone has been released to the public, courtesy of Bohemia Interactive's E3 presence. The new screenshots are entirely in-game and aren't some PR bullshots taken from some non-existent gameplay build set to wow and mesmerize...coughAliens: Colonial Marinescough.
