Ubisoft has revealed today that it will release an original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle game later this year to coincide with the franchise's 25th anniversary. As you might suspect, it's a four-player brawler.

The new TMNT game will be released for the Wii in Fall 2009. It's being developed by Super Smash Bros. Brawl developer Game Arts. The launch of the game is just one event in a year-long "Shell-ebration" (their horrid pun, not mine) of the anniversary, which will also include "new and exciting products and experiences for TMNT fans in the U.S. and around the world."

Details were scant in the press release but more information was promised in the January issue of Nintendo Power.
