Tekken Tag Tournament 2 Coming This September, Has Working Pair-PlayAuthor: William Usher

Namco Bandai announced that Tekken Tag Tournament 2 will be making its way to home consoles this September. Namco, at their event in Las Vegas, also explicitly mentioned that the game will sport more than 44 characters, as well as a working pair-play feature for both the Xbox 360 and PS3. If I didn't know any better, that's sort of a snide one-up on Capcom's Street Fighter X Tekken outing.
Siliconera reports that Tekken Tag Tournament 2 will arrive in North America and Europe on the Xbox 360 and PS3 this fall and even though the arcade version already has 44 characters the game's producer, Katsuhiro Harada, mentioned that they will include even more than that by the time the game hits home consoles. The game is supposedly only 10% complete and the team didn't want to just port the arcade game over to consoles and call it a day, they wanted to ensure that there was enough content, replayability and originality to set it apart from its arcade counterpart. As mentioned in the opening paragraph, the game will feature a robust pair-play feature for both consoles (or so it's planned) and will allow players to online or offline using tag and scramble features, so up to four players will be able to participate in the battles, just like with Street Fighter X Tekken. I imagine with the team focusing on core features we won't have to worry about them running out of time or resources because they were instead focusing on disc-locked content. Tekken Tag Tournament 2 is set for release this September for the Xbox 360 and PS3 and it sounds like it's shaping up to be one heck of an outing.
