If you’re looking to get in a little time on the course before Tiger Woods PGA Tour 14 officially launches on March 23, then you’ll probably want to fire up your Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 sometime today. The game’s demo is now available, and boy-howdy does it offer a nice chunk of content to sink your teeth into.
With the latest Tiger Woods game set to hit store shelves in just a couple of weeks but, starting today, the demo will allow virtual golfers to step into the shoes of an all-time great in Legends of the Majors mode, get a brief sampling of the LPGA offerings and even tackle a massive Connected Tournament with 24 other players. First up is the Legends of the Majors, a special mode that lets you play a round of golf with era-specific attire, equipment and skills. In the Tiger Woods 14 demo, players will be able to tackle a special challenge as Arnold Palmer set during the 1961 Open Championship at Royal Brikdale. If you manage to achieve the challenge’s goal, Palmer will then be made available as a playable character in the full version of the game. You’ll also be able to try out the LPGA integration with this new demo, taking on a Quick Tournaments match at the new Oak Hill country Club as ladies phenomenon, Lexi Thompson. For those who are curious how the new Connected Tournaments mode will work, you can join up with a “twenty-foursome” to compete in an online tourney that allows you to see the shot arcs of all of your fellow players at the same time. Finally, this latest iteration of the Tiger Woods franchise will support motion controls, meaning you’ll be able to enjoy the demo with Kinect or the PlayStation Move controller. Back to top
