Hot off their recent game Offensive Combat, newcomer dev studio composed of industry veterans, U4iA Games, has announced that moving forward they will be releasing additional video games and new content on the recently crowd-funded, affordable Android-based game console, OUYA.
Co-founder of U4iA, Dusty Welch, commented about the platform and the company moving software onto it, saying... "Everyone here at U4iA Games is excited to bring our titles to OUYA! Given that consoles are so expensive and face an uncertain future, OUYA stands out as the perfect example of an affordable home-entertainment platform created specifically for core gamers like us. We've used our profound wisdom to create a cheeky, free-for-all shooting mash-up called Offensive Combat. Moving forward, we can't wait to bring all-new games in the Offensive Combat universe to the OUYA platform." The OUYA managed to achieve startling success in a very short amount of time, making more than $6 million from crowd-funding and as of the writing of this article there are still five days left to go. The console opens itself up to a much more diverse group of gaming possibilities, including hackers, modders, indie devs and basement programmers. With this kind of open platform being made available to the masses, OUYA has attracted a lot of attention and support from many game developers, including U4iA Games. Of course, no official details or announcements attached to specific projects are on the plate from U4iA at the moment for the OUYA, but I imagine we'll be getting some additional news about an OUYA tailored release soon enough.
