Unreal Indie Bundle Takes Steam By Storm
The Unreal Engine 3 indie game bundle is currently going wild and running strong on Valve's digital distribution portal. The bundle contains independent games designed and published using Epic Games' Unreal Engine 3 and you can get them all for the low, low price of $19.99.
It's funny because for Xbox Live users, $19.99 is usually considered a “deal” on a half-decade old game, but for Steam users $19.99 nets you seven full-version games. Let me repeat that: You get seven full games for only $19.99. That's about $2.8 bucks per game.
But let's not get ahead of ourselves. The games that arrive in the bundle includes:
Each of those games were successes in their own right, especially Primal Carnage and Dungeon Defenders, the latter of which managed to move more than a million copies and is getting a free-to-play sequel.
This is a pretty slick move by Epic and is a great deal for anyone who didn't previously already own the aforementioned games. The other cool part is that all of those games are actually good! How shocking is that? Good games for sale in a budget-priced bundle.
I tell you, Microsoft is really going to have their work cut out for them if Valve can actually get the Steam Box out in a timely manner because a console-style PC at an affordable price loaded with Steam could end up squashing whatever MS comes up with the next-gen Xbox if they're planning on keeping the ridiculous premium prices on everything, especially for lesser quality games. Luckily Sony has PS Plus and that definitely makes up for it.
You can get in on the Steam deal right now by visiting the official Steam page.
