July is usually a slow month for disc-based video games, but on the virtual market, things tend to go nice and strong through one of the hottest months of the year. Sony recently announced PlayStatation Network stats for the month of July and TellTale’s latest adventure game, The Walking Dead, continues to impress with Episode 2 shambling to the top of the list.
PlayStation Digital Platforms Community Manager Morgan Haro popped by the PlayStation Blog this morning, providing all of the big stats for the previous month of sales. Summertime goes hand in hand with scorching sales, which accounts for some of the biggest performances over the last 30 days. The Shin Megami Tensei series saw some deep discounts on PSP, for instance, leading to three of its games taking spots on the top five list. And over on the vita, Table Top Tanks managed to stay ahead of the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection. Just a guess, but that might have had something to do with Tanks costing less than a six pack of cola. Here’s a look at the top five for each major category on PSN.
