Warning: Painkiller Hell & Damnation Trailer Is For Old-School, Skill-Based Gamers

published: 2012-10-22 13:40:30
Do you like hand-holding? Do you like regenerating health instead of lifebars? How about linear, one-path levels so you don't get lost? An ample supply of level-appropriate weapons with infinite ammo in your secondary weapon? Do you need someone yelling out “Ramirez!” every few seconds to tell you how to open a door or when to teabag a generic-looking, towel-headed “bad guy”? Well, you probably won't like Painkiller: Hell & Damnation because it will kick the nuts off a casual player, as evidenced by the new trailer featuring music from Ojo Rojo.

The original Painkiller had an old-school gameplay architecture with new-school storytelling and faux pas character development. The idea was to bring Doom, Quake and Blood style gameplay into the 21st century. It wasn't a bad game and pinning dudes to the wall with the stake gun never got old. Check it out in the trailer below.

Painkiller Hell & Damnation is no easy-ticket-ride and the bosses will require a lot of running and shooting and even more running. The addition of the co-op will also make it that much more enjoyable for friends to blast through the game like never before.

Also, unlike other games, Nordic's Painkiller was designed for PC first...ha! That's right, the PC Master Race gets the game first and it was optimized for PC first and foremost, which should make for a mouth-watering experience for Rig-Workers. If you're a console gamer, don't fret, though, the game will still arrive for you, too.

Painkiller Hell & Damnation is set for release on PC starting October 31st. The game will arrive January 22nd for the Xbox 360 and PS3 in 2013. Need more info? Visit the Official Website.
