WAVI Xtion Motion-Based Device Coming Q3 2011
ASUS and SoftKinect Studios have teamed together to bring gamers and multimedia users two brand new products scheduled to hit retailers in the third quarter of this year. The ASUS WAVI Xtion is a gesture/motion-based device that works on PCs or TVs and SoftKinect’s DanceWall will be bundled in with the device when it launches later this year.
Emma Chu, deputy section manager, Multimedia Business Unit of ASUS commented in the press release, saying…
“We’re delighted to work with SoftKinetic for their unique expertise on gesture-based entertainment. Their contribution through the bundle of DanceWall with our innovative media center product should be impactful,” … “DanceWall is a perfect title to provide an exciting 3D gesture-recognition entertainment for families and friends.”If the name doesn’t say it all, DanceWall is a lot like Dance Central, where players will have to match the on-screen movements with real-life movements in order to rack up points and win the game. The game is being powered by Softkinect’s gesture-based middle-ware that we reported on years ago, called iisu (The Interface is You).
