Xbox Live Could Get ESPN

Xbox 360 owners can already watch streaming movies and television shows through Xbox Live. Soon they may be able to watch sporting events through the console as well.

The New York Times reports that Microsoft may incorporate ESPN programming into Xbox Live. For a fee, the service would allow the subscriber to watch streaming sports events. It's likened in the article to ESPN360, the broadband sports network.

No deal has been inked between Microsoft and Walt Disney (ESPN's parent company), however, so this may not happen. Even if they don't end up partnering up with ESPN, though, it's easy to imagine Microsoft incorporating sports news into Xbox Live in some other fashion.
