What exactly is an “Ender” and where might one’s “Zone” be located? These questions and more will be answered once Zone of the Enders HD Collection launches for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on Oct. 30. No, seriously, Konami Digital Entertainment has officially made the announcement. Pretty cool, right?
Best known for his work on the Metal Gear series, director Hideo Kojima has actually made a few games over the years that involve neither a Naked Snake nor a nude cartwheeling ninja-in-training. Both Zone of the Enders and its sequel, Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner are two such titles, and both have been gussied up in an HD paint job and slapped together for yet another sweet collection of last gen games. More than just an HD remake, Zone of the Enders HD Collection will also boast Trophy/Achievement support, up-resed animations and an all new opening created by the artists at Sunrise. And while Zone of the Enders will be the same as former players might remember, The 2nd Runner will actually be the European special edition of the game, making this the first time North American players will be able to get their hands on the enhanced version of the PS2 classic. If that’s still somehow not enough, then you might also be interested to know that Zone of the Enders HD Collection will definitely come packed with the Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance demo and, according to Konami’s press release, it “will be the first time consumers will be able to experience the title’s thrilling ‘cut at will’ mechanic first-hand at home.” Giant robots and the ability to slice enemy soldiers into tiny cubes. What more could you possibly ask for? Back to top
