| Don't
forget the World Trade Center
This week saw the worst mass murder in the history of the world. Potentially tens of thousands of innocent lives, cut short by the fanatical callous hands of suicidal terrorists. Their goal, kill as many people as possible, disrupt the democratic world, damage a way of life. They succeeded.
The most notable casualty is the upcoming Spider-Man movie, whose trailer prominently featured the twin towers of the World Trade Center. Now, across the country, theaters and TV stations at the direction of Sony Pictures, rush to expunge the trailer from existence. Posters are being pulled down and mailed back to Sony. Web sites, like Spider-Man Hype are taking any images off their site that contain pictures of the WTC. All in a misguided attempt to spare the American people pain. To take away one more reminder of what occurred September 11, 2001. This is wrong. The World Trade Center did exist. To pretend it did not is an affront to those who died and fought and lost there that fateful Tuesday. Pulling a few pictures down off the wall will not spare people pain. Every time New Yorkers look at their beloved sky they must be reminded. Its good to remember. It is right that we never forget what happened that day. Never forget. Remember the past, acknowledge what happened there, and move on with our lives. Find a way to cope, find a way to make sure this NEVER happens again. But do not try to forget. Go on living and remembering. We owe the victims that much. Don't give these murderers the satisfaction of seeing us flinch. You've endured the Hobbit's
madness, tell him what you think! CLICK HERE |
