Don't mess with my THX

I like movies. I know, shocking but true. And when I go see a film at my local theatre, I not only like watching it, but hearing it as well. And when I say hearing I don't mean at a level where I can just barely make out the words. I'm talking about full bore theatre sound. I want the surround to surround me, encompass me, and draw me deeper into the film.

Lately, this Hobbit has had to listen to a lot of cranky old women whining and complaining that the sound is theatres is to loud. Even heard one idiot threatening to sue theatres for "possibly damaging" their hearing. Morons comparing movies to rock concerts! To you people I direct a hearty BAH! Clearly its been a long time since you old crones have been out to a rock concert.

When a person pays 7-9 bucks to see a film, they do so to sit and enjoy a form of visual and AUDIO entertainment. The screen is bigger than the one in your house... and so is the sound. This is as it should be, or else why bother to go to the theatre when you can sit home and rent the movie?

People who constantly complain about the film being to loud usually really aren't all that interested in the movie to being with. It's the true movie lover that suffers when one of these old biddies (and I'm not talking about physical age here, I'm talking mental) complains to the manger and gets that ultra expensive THX system cranked down. I paid 9 bucks for that sound! If you don't like THX stay home and rent a video. Sit your boney ass down at home in front of the TV where you are safe from the horrendous cacophony of sound and let the Hobbit and the other real movie lovers out there watch the movie in peace.

You can please some of the people some of the time, but you can't please all the people all the time, so lets just focus on pleasing the Hobbit ok?
