As if Mick Jagger Doing the Rooster Isn't Animated Enough...
The Rolling Stones are finally turning Ruby Tuesday into more than just a restaurant chain with menu options that can satisfy even the pickiest member of your family. The song, originally released in 1967, is the inspiration for an upcoming animated motion picture to be written and directed by French brothers Paul and Gaetan Brizzi, says The Hollywood Reporter.

The Brizzi brothers' art nouveau animation style has been seen in the Firebird Suite segment of Fantasia 2000 and the French language film Asterix and Cesar's Surprise, among other things. With a somewhat dark style and a plot that supposedly entails "a single mother searching for happiness in New York", it's pretty clear that "Yellow Submarine" this is not.

The film, co-produced by EuropaCorp. and Mick Jagger's Jagged Films, isn't slated for release until 2008 - one can assume that the task of animating twelve Stones songs will be quite laborious. Not that the Stones are waiting around for the film to get made - their "A Bigger Bang" tour wraps on November 18 in Los Angeles, but guitarist Ron Wood tells Billboard that they plan to hit the road again in 2007, mentioning "We'll probably do some Europe; we owe them some dates."
