Avril Plays Free For Canucks

Following in the footsteps of the Goo Goo Dolls, Avril Lavigne is partnering with Best Buy to play a free concert for Canadian fans. The faux-punk will be at the opening of the electronics superstore in Burnaby, the home town of legendary Colorado Avalanche center Joe Sakic.

According to Perez Hilton, the announcement came after reports circulated alleging poor ticket sales for her upcoming tour. Boo-hoo. Avril should be happy. She sold a couple million records with marginal talent and even less charisma. There’s only several hundred performers who can say that.

The free tickets will be handed out to the first several hundred fans in-line at both local older Canadian Best Buys and the newly opened store in Burnaby. An autograph session will also take place at some point. Sweet.
